CONDITIONS OF SALE

IT IS THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK IF THE JOINERY PRODUCTS HAVE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS AND CONFIRM TO US IN WRITING BEFORE MANUFACTURE:

  • TOUGHENED GLASS 

  • OBSCURE GLASS 

  • WINDOW FIRE EXITS 

  • TRICKLE VENTS 

  • NHBC NEW BUILD PROJECT FOR DRY VENTED GLAZING SYSTEM 

  • LISTED BUILDING REGULATIONS 

  • CONSERVATION AREA. 

PLEASE NOTE ALL GOODS WILL BE SPRAY PRIMED UNLESS WE ARE INFORMED BEFORE MANUFACTURE. TOP-COAT SPRAY PAINT IS APPLIED TO THE PAINT MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS. IT IS AN ADDITIONAL PROTECTIVE COAT FOR THE JOINERY PRODUCT. IF THE CUSTOMER DECIDES TO APPLY AN ADDITIONAL BRUSH COAT ON SITE NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY SPRAY COATS. 

DOUBLE-GLAZED UNITS ARE SUPPLIED WITH A GUARANTEE FROM THE UNIT MANUFACTURER FOR FIVE YEARS. ROBUR JOINERY WILL NOT BE LIABLE IF THE DOUBLE-GLAZED UNIT MANUFACTURER GOES OUT OF BUSINESS OR REFUSES TO REPLACE A UNIT. SITE RE-GLAZING COSTS ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS GUARANTEE. 

STAIRCASES ARE TRENCHED WEDGED AND HAVE GLUE BLOCKS THESE ARE VISIBLE UNDER THE STAIRS. LINING UNDER THE STAIRS BY OTHERS ON SITE. NEWEL POSTS ARE MORTICE AND TENONED & JOINTS DOWELLED. 

"AS TIMBER IS A NATURAL PRODUCT, IT IS SUBJECT TO VARIATIONS IN COLOUR, GRAIN AND WILL CONTAIN KNOTS AND SHAKES. ALL THESE CHARACTERISTICS ARE ALLOWED UNDER GRADING RULES AND ARE NOT DEFECTS" 

 

SEASONAL TIMBER MOVEMENT: 

ALL TIMBER IS A NATURAL PRODUCT AND IS SUBJECT TO SWELLING AND SHRINKAGE WHICH MAY OCCUR DUE TO THE CHANGE IN MOISTURE CONTENT WHICH OCCURS DUE TO THE VARIATION IN CLIMATIC AND ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS SUCH AS HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE. IT IS NOT A DEFECT BUT IS NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TIMBER. ALL OUR PRODUCTS ARE CHECKED OVER AND QUALITY CONTROLLED BEFORE DISPATCH ANY SITE ADJUSTMENTS, EASING AND MAINTENANCE OF JOINERY PRODUCTS THEREAFTER ARE NOT COVERED BY ANY GUARANTEE OR LIABILITY OF ROBUR JOINERY LTD. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SITE INSTALLER OR PROPERTY OWNER TO UNDERTAKE AND PAY FOR SUCH WORK.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts for the supply of goods and services by Robur Joinery Ltd. to the customer, appertaining to one or more quotation.   The price payable and any other special terms agreed between the parties shall be set out in the quotation.  No changes or variations shall be made without written confirmation to any confirmed quotation. 

Any clerical errors or omission on any quotation, estimate, invoice or other document issued by Robur Joinery shall be subject to correction without liability on the part of the Company. 

The quotation submitted by Robur Joinery manufacturers to the client is valid for a period of 28 days from the date of the quotation. 

The acceptance of a quotation must be signed and dated and returned to Robur Joinery’s offices, together with an online deposit payment as specified on the quotation.  (Bank details on the quotation).  This will enable the Company to proceed with the order forthwith, otherwise the Company will be at liberty to amend the quoted price to cover any increase in cost which has taken place before acceptance.  Should you wish to change anything, following signed acceptance, an additional charge may be incurred. 

Unless otherwise agreed the price in respect of the goods shall be payable no later than the last weekday of the month, following date of invoice. 

If the customer cancels or purports to cancel the order or any part thereof or fails to take delivery of any goods at the time agreed (if any).  Should such cancellation or failure cause dislocation to the Company’s production, the customer shall be liable, without prejudice to any other rights of the Company to claim damages to indemnify the company against any loss, damage or claim resulting from such dislocation, and against any loss, damage or expense incurred by the company in connection with the manufacture or non-manufacture of the goods, including cost of any material, plant or tools used or intended to be used therefore and the cost of labour and other overheads. 

Notwithstanding that the goods shall be at the risk of the Purchaser from the date of delivery to the property. 

The Purchaser will not be entitled to withhold payment of any invoice by reason of any right of set off or counterclaim which the Purchaser may have, or allege it has against Robur Joinery or for any other reason whatsoever. 

In the event that the Purchaser failing to pay Robur Joinery Ltd., on the due date then the Purchaser shall be charged interest at 5%. A further 2% will be added for every calendar month later that the payment is made. 

Maintenance of all timber products is required by the Customer.  The correct treatment of all timber windows and doors is critical and failure to carry this out will lead to any warranty being invalidated. 

Any timber product which is supplied only or supplied and fitted to the customer of a primed only nature would require to be painted immediately following delivery/fitting with a suitable exterior paint   Failure to fulfil this would nullify any guarantee. 

All factory finished items would require maintenance coats after 2 – 5 years dependant on location and species of timber.  For regular maintenance see https://www.akzonobel.com/en/corporate-product-category/maintenance. 

The customer is responsible for preparing the installation site prior to the commencement of work by Robur Joinery Ltd, this includes the removal of furniture, ornaments, curtains, carpets etc.,  Any direct or consequential damage caused by the customer’s non-compliance of the above cannot be deemed to be the responsibility of Robur Joinery Ltd.  Robur Joinery Ltd are not responsible for any decoration or rendering to the area where installation is made.  Every effort will be made by the Company to ensure minimum disruption and upheaval. 

Any breakages of glass after installation are excluded from any guarantee, unless proven to have been broken at the time of installation. 

Any defects caused to any products manufactured and installed by Robur Joinery Ltd, by the materials used and workmanship of any third party is excluded from any guarantee. 

Robur Joinery Ltd cannot guarantee 100% that knots will not show through any factory finished product when the timber being used is softwood. 

Any dates quoted for start, delivery and installation of goods or services are approximate guidelines only, and Robur Joinery Ltd shall not be liable for any delay in delivery of the good or installation howsoever caused. 

Consumers normally have a 14 day cancellation period, with the exception of bespoke products.  All our manufactured products are bespoke, as we tailor make to your individual requirements.
